Tank Dilemma's first gig was on the 18th of July, 2001, at an open mic night in Warrnambool, a coastal town on the Australian underbelly. The results were captured on 4 track and are found on Tankard's ep, Flaunt Your Sweetness, released in October 28th that year. Extending upon popular local act Guy Smilie Trio with, at the time, two tenor saxes, the Dilemma was songwriter Richard Tankard's vehicle to perform original roots based soul and funk. This soon included swing and, dare we say it, pop. After several sporadic recording sessions between 99-04, the INNER SOUL album was released (12.3.04), hailed as the finest album ever released from the region. Launched to enthusiastic punters at the world renown Port Fairy Folk Festival, the band has since performed at Sydney's Basement, Brunswick's Cornish Arms and the Hepburn Palais, along with their homeground venue, The Stump - Port Fairy. The act was able to support Shane Howard on his 2004 national tour, mainly due to his live and recording act containing several Tank Dilemma members. An album of fresh material will surface in 2007.
